I get asked this question a lot: "When can I change my Medicare plan?"

The answer depends on what type of plan you have. Now that the fall Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15 - Dec. 7) is over, there are a few other options for changes.

Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period is Jan. 1 - March 31. During this window, people with Medicare Advantage plans can make a switch to a different Advantage plan, or go back to Original Medicare with or without a prescription drug plan.

There is also conditions that allow you to use the Special Enrollment Period, such as moving out of your current coverage area, having your Medicare Advantage Plan drop a significant amount of care providers, or a state-declared disaster.

Switching to a more suitable plan can be accomplished with the help of a knowledgeable licensed agent. It's time well-spent, since we are talking about your health and wellness.
